Character Creation

The links below bring up character creation rules for the various nations and peoples in the Belgariad and Malloreon.

PCs are generated by standard Eternal Soldier rules, including starting with 2,000 experience points to buy skills. Each nation or race has certain advantages and disadvantages which come into play during character creation. Any racial skill advantages are applied before spending the base 2,000 points, and are treated as free levels.

Unless otherwise specified, characteristics are generated by rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest die. They may not be rearranged, as there are specific rules for a number of races.

Character Creation Steps

  1. Choose the nationality or other defining trait of the PC.
  2. Roll for specific characteristics as described in the national description.
  3. Roll 4d6 and drop the lowest die for each of the remaining characteristics.
  4. Make any allowable characteristic trades if desired.
  5. Assign any skill levels for that race as free levels, costing no experience points.
  6. Spend experience points normally.
