The following aliens are on the side of the Yeerks. Most are Controller species at this point.
Supernormal Powers Speed Scale 5 Whiplike tail, +4 DFThe Speed Scale is a guess. They move extremely fast, making them virtually impossible for humans and most animals to track. It makes them deadly in hand-to-hand combat. However, a cobra is faster than a Garatron.
Attributes Gedds start with all attributes at Mediocre, not Fair. Skills Swimming: Mediocre (webbed feet) Faults Legs are unequal length, so they can't run or even walk very quickly Scale -1 Nearsighted Very Primitive, -7 TLOther character traits do not apply to Gedds. The Yeerks breed them as hosts for low-ranking Yeerks, suitable for menial tasks. Thus, they never have a chance to learn independently.
Attributes FIT Good DEX Good INT Poor SOC Mediocre Skills Oral History: Superb Gifts Blades (+1 Damage Factor) Natural brachiator Scale 1 Faults Primitive, -6 TL (but no metalworking)For the Blue Bands introduced in Animorphs #45: The Revelation, increase Fit to Great and add two Skills, both at Good: Dracon Beam and Hand-to-hand Combat.
A free Hork-Bajir may have Supernormal Power: Seer. This gives INT and SOC of Fair before attribute modification, and provides a limited precognitive power. The power can't be controlled, but other Hork-Bajir will accept what the seer predicts without question. Hork-Bajir hold Seers in high reverence.
The best references on Hork-Bajir are Animorphs #13: The Change and The Hork-Bajir Chronicles.
The Taxxons are unique in the universe, in that the entire race cut a deal with the Yeerks. They traded host bodies for a continuing supply of fresh meat. This has made them pariahs among the sentient races of the galaxy.
Attributes STR: Poor Skills Swimming: Good Tunnelling: Superb Supernormal Powers Can breathe in a wide variety of environments Multilegged arthropod, can't have balance upset Multiple pairs of hands with inherent Fault: short arms Faults Ceaseless hunger for fresh meat Fragile, Defensive factor -1 Mass Scale -2 (about 4 meters long, though) Social stigma: all Taxxons are voluntary ControllersThe best reference work on Taxxons is The Andalite Chronicles. Their breathing and tunnelling abilities play a part in Animorphs #43: The Test.
Yeerks need to return to a Yeerk pool to absorb Kandrona rays. They can survive outside a host or Yeerk pool for a short while, which can be extended to several hours by putting them in fresh water.
Yeerk technology is all stolen from Andalites; however, the Yeerks have not made the advances in power usage and miniaturization that the Andalites have since the theft. Thus, their TL is one lower.
Attributes FIT Terrible DEX Terrible INT Great WIL Good Gifts High Technology, +3 TL Supernormal Powers Electromagnetic sonar-like sense in liquids Telepathy with inherent Fault: must wrap around host brain Total Mind Control with inherent Fault as above Faults Want to conquer the universe Naturally blind Poor sense of touch Must have Kandrona rays every three days or will die Scale -7 (about the size of a rat) Kandrona rays may be replaced with one of two other Faults: Addicted to instant maple-and-ginger-flavored oatmeal (see Animorphs #17: The Underground), or Cannibalism (see Animorphs #16: The Warning)Yeerk mind control and telepathy combine to give the Yeerk complete control over the host. A Yeerk can instantly and effortlessly go through its host's memories, skills, mannerisms, etc., to the point of perfect impersonation. A Yeerk can also use all its host's traits at will.
If you need a reference work on Yeerks, you're not paying attention when you read the books. Still, Animorphs #29: The Sickness has the most information about them as individuals. The book that describes what it's like to be an unwilling Controller is Animorphs #6: The Capture. Yeerk politics are discussed in Animorphs #5: The Predator, Animorphs #30: The Reunion, Visser and The Hork-Bajir Chronicles.
