Yeerk Technology

Much of Yeerk technology is stolen Andalite technology of roughly 30 years ago. As such, it's less efficient than Andalite technology. It's still quite advanced compared to Earth tech, though.

Blade Ship
Visser Three's personal battle craft. It's about twenty times the size of a Bug fighter, and in fact carries two of them. It also has several Dracon beam cannon on board, ranging from +10 to +15 damage factor.

Bug Fighter
This ship uses the same stats as an Andalite fighter, but looks different and has more manual thought-sensitive controls--touch them and think the command.

Cruiser
Appearing only in Animorphs #54: The Beginning, this boomerang-shaped ship is about a quarter the size of a Blade ship. It carries two small shuttlecraft. It's between a Blade ship and a Bug fighter in terms of armament and shields, having a Dracon cannon at the end of each wing. It's also much faster than either, and possibly faster than any standard Andalite craft.

Dracon Beam
The Dracon beam is a Yeerk corruption of the Andalite shredder. It's as ubiquitous to them as firearms are to human armies. Instead of nearly painless disintegration, it burns targets at extreme temperatures.

Damage ranges from "no more than a Scratch" for Helmacron dracon heavy cannon, to +15 DF or more for ship-to-ship weapons. A typical handheld dracon beam does +4.

The difference between this and shredders is in pain. Dracon beams cause double penalties for the first round after a wound. So someone who is Hurt by a dracon beam is at -2 to all actions for one round, then at -1 for all subsequent rounds before additional damage.

Gleet Biofilter
In Animorphs #17: The Underground, we learn that the Yeerks have stolen this technology and use it to guard the entrances to Yeerk pools.

Hunter-killer robot
The Yeerk pool is guarded by these flying drones in Animorphs #17: The Underground. About the size of a basketball (Scale -11), each carries a +0 Damage Factor Dracon beam. They seek out flying animals and shoot them down. They have only one visual sensor. They aren't particularly intelligent, but they don't have to be.

Kandrona
The Yeerk sun emits Kandrona rays naturally. Away from the homeworld, Yeerks must have access to a Kandrona wave/particle generator, or "Kandrona" for short. A typical portable Kandrona as described in Animorphs #7: The Stranger is about the size of a Volkswagen Bug. One-shot disposable Kandronas, about the size of a briefcase, are mentioned in Animorphs #30: The Reunion.

Mothership
The Yeerk mothership looks like a flattened sphere about 1/4 mile across. It has three spider-like legs which house the drive units. Several tendrils hang down from the center of the bottom also. These have the weapons and sensors.

Nova-class Empire Ship
Seen in Animorphs #30: The Reunion, this four-engined battle craft is big enough to dwarf a Blade ship.

Small Steel Cylinder
The Yeerks used this device in Animorphs #8: The Alien as an assassination tool. It kills humans on contact, but has no range.

Submarine
Shaped like a stingray, this craft is about twenty meters long. It has three engine pods at the tail end. About 75% of the hull is transparent, including all the upper and forward surfaces. The Yeerk submarine appears in Animorphs #15: The Escape.

Truck Ship
About the size of a skyscraper, this ship has massive air intakes and several siphon tubes. It's used to gather air and water for replenishing other Yeerk spaceships.

Yeerk Pool
This is the pool in which Yeerks swim. It's a non-toxic chemical concoction, mostly water, that provides them with base nutrients. It's not as vital to their survival as Kandrona rays, but the Yeerk pool is home.
